Services
We all deserve access to our needs such as preventative health care and pain relief without the risk of addiction, which massage offers.
I specialize in the modalities listed below:
~Shiatsu – Shiatsu massage is a clothed modality that uses a variety of techniques including pressure, kneading, tapping, and stretching, to access the energy of the body called Qi.
~Vibrational – Vibrational therapy is a clothed modality that uses rocking, shaking, and stretching to free up past tensions and stresses that can be held in the body.
~Swedish – Swedish massage is a gentle modality that uses oil, long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration, and tapping to help relax and energize the client.
~Deep Tissue – Deep Tissue massage uses very slow, more concentrated pressure and strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue.
~Craniosacral – Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body, relieving pain, and dysfunction, and improving whole-body health and performance.
Sessions can range from subtle to very firm, depending on the needs of my clients, and are always fluid and gentle. I offer breathing and visualization guidance to support the mind, imagination and body collaborating in rest.
We all have different relationships to touch. Please reach out with any questions if you’re curious about the benefits of massage but unsure if it’s right for your needs. We might be able to find a combination of modalities that work for you. I can also recommend some non-massage healing arts and practitioners who may better meet your needs.
Sliding Scale
My rate is on a sliding scale of $100-$200 Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Curious about navigating a sliding scale? Check out the cute green bottle graphic below and find th place on the scale that best describes your circumstances.
If you need regular appointments, pay an amount at which you can afford to come in more often. Be willing to cut back on luxury items but not basic necessities.
Massage has been a part of my sphere of mutual care and co-regulating for as long as I can remember. Back rubs and head rubs eased childhood’s stubbed toes and other frustrations. I massaged my parent’s feet, hands, or back at the end of the day or as they got ready for the day ahead. I seek to bring that same tender care to my work today.
Bodywork through massage, Craniosacral therapy, and Acupressure is one expression of this long-time passion for helping people process and transform layers of discomfort or pain. My purpose is to listen unconditionally to people’s bodies and stories to support them in more fully embodying themselves. The more relaxed we are, the more fluid we are. The more in touch with our fluid state, the more effectively and vibrantly our many liquid systems, from lymph to blood, can function.
I delight in helping people reclaim a more vibrant and nuanced sensory awareness of their surroundings and relationships.
I believe our bodies and minds are ingenious and regenerating all the time. That regenerative state is found in sleep and other forms of deep rest. We can get stuck in a hypertonic or vigilant state which prevents our full replenishment. I bring skills in muscular manipulation and listening to help the body regain its natural vibrant liquid state where it can regenerate and enjoy balance. It’s pretty amazing how attention itself can resolve many conditions, even those that can seem unwavering or inevitable.
The opportunity to work with each of my clients is an honor. I am particularly moved to create a nurturing space to support survivors of physical or emotional trauma to remember safety in their own bodies.
I studied Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Vibrational massage at the World School of Massage in San Francisco, Graduating in 2015.
At McKinnon Therapy Institute I continued my education In Craniosacral therapy, Shiatsu and Acupressure. Traditional Chinese Medicine principles of balance, guidance from the natural elements, energy patterns, and the deep listening and discernment practices of Craniosacral therapy profoundly deepened my capacity to observe and facilitate balance.
